Support Worker

  • Location: West Midlands or Lancashire
  • Role Dates: Various Dates between ​June & September 2017
  • Role Length: 18 days per programme (up to 36 days, plus adhoc availability)
  • Role Type: Non-manager
  • Reports To: Programme Leader
  • Residential Requirements: Partly residential
  • Payment: £​1530

The Support Worker assists a young person with additional needs on a 1-2-1 basis throughout their NCS journey, ensuring that they get the most out of the programme.

Support Workers report to the Programme Leader and work with other members of the seasonal staff team to empower the young people to socially mix and fully engage in the programme independently.

This role is suitable for a compassionate and confident person who is passionate about ensuring young people are able to access the NCS programme. The Support Worker will be able to motivate and gain the respect of young people., and take overall responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of their assigned young person; in some cases this will include personal care or responsibility for administering medication.
