Our NCS programme offers young people the chance to develop skills in a particular area during Part 2.
Where possible we try to place people with their first or second choice. No prior experience is required to participate in the programme and we will provide all of the necessary equipment. The skills available in certain areas may vary, but in general the skills are as follows:
Photography – Young people discover digital photography and learn how to enhance photos the photos they take and the finished product in post-production.
Drama – Writing, directing, acting and improvisation: teams learn more about the art of putting on a performance.
Sport – Gain better leadership and coaching skills, something that is useful in any career, through sports. Participants learn how to lead and deliver sports sessions.
Enterprise – Young people gain a “real-life business insight” learning how to design, develop and market a product or service with a target audience in mind.
Media – Teams focus on media production: forming a film crew of sound engineers, cameramen/women, directors and presenter to shoot, edit and produce their own short film or video.
Music – Young people collaborate with professional musicians and each other to develop new rhythms and melodies.
Art – Young people explore their creativity through drawing, painting and making. (Art is only currently available in limited areas – where art is an option we’ll let you know once you have applied)
